Grant Disbursement Platform Design for Chicago (USA) Government

The client aimed to provide $5 million in grants to disabled children from families impacted by COVID-19. We designed and implemented an end-to-end platform to manage the grant distribution, ensuring an efficient, transparent process. By leveraging our Business Analysis and Project Management expertise, we identified key requirements and created a streamlined application system. Agile methodologies allowed for iterative development, enabling us to adjust quickly to any changes.

We understood the client's perspective

Client wanted to recognise the disproportionate negative economic impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on disabled students and their families. They wanted to provide financial assistance to such families via distribution of $5 million worth of grants. They needed a strategic partner to build and deploy a platform for distributing funds to 8000+ disabled students through a USA-based NGO that has been around for over 100 years.

We provided the solution

We provided our client with a comprehensive solution, designed over a period of six months using agile delivery methods, for distributing grants to approximately 11,500 disabled students. Our solution included:

  • Designed a streamlined workflow for applicants to apply for grants and prizes. Created a robust verification and approval workflow, including reporting, customer support, and lottery capabilities.

  • Developed detailed use cases and process flows with Miro and Visio.

  • Crafted UI elements, wireframes, and mock-ups using Figma.

  • Defined clear requirements and features through user stories.

  • Ensured that integration capabilities with third-party applications for real-time verification, payment processing, and notification services were impeccably built.

  • Conducted user story sizing and sprint planning to ensure agile feature delivery.

  • Collaborated effectively with stakeholders, including the architect, UI design team, development team, and product owner, to ensure timely project delivery.

  • Performed end-to-end functional testing.

  • Provided comprehensive go-live and production support.
